How is tip percentage calculated?
Tip percentage is calculated from the bill amount before taxes: 20% tip on a $50 bill is $10. In some countries (especially USA) tips are calculated on the after-tax amount. In most places, tax is already included in prices, so calculating directly from the bill is simpler. The tip calculator handles rounding automatically.
